Job Description

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for School employees. Working closely with colleagues across Finance and Human Resources, you will help ensure employees are paid correctly, payroll records are maintained accurately, and payroll processes meet legislative and organisational requirements. This role also contributes to the ongoing review and improvement of payroll systems and processes

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing end-to-end payroll in an accurate and timely manner
  • Maintaining employee payroll records, classifications and employment details
  • Managing leave, allowances, deductions and employee entitlements
  • Processing superannuation, taxation and payroll reporting requirements
  • Completing payroll reconciliations and preparing payroll reports
  • Responding to payroll enquiries and providing responsive support to employees and managers
  • Maintaining payroll data within ELMO, Synergetic and other relevant systems
  • Supporting continuous improvement of payroll processes and procedures

About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
•    Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing
•    Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
•    Experience interpreting employment conditions, awards or enterprise agreements
•    Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
•    Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
•    The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement
•    Experience with ELMO and/or Synergetic would be advantageous
