Overview
Peninsula Grammar is seeking an experienced and inspiring educator to join our School as Head of Commerce commencing in 2027. This leadership role is responsible for guiding the continued growth and success of our Commerce faculty, including subjects such as Economics, Business Management and Accounting. The successful candidate will lead curriculum development, support and mentor staff, and foster strong student engagement and achievement. Working closely with colleagues across the School, the Head of Commerce will champion high-quality teaching and learning, encourage innovation in the classroom, and help students develop the knowledge and skills needed for future study, work and life.
This is a Head of Commerce Position of Responsibility, commencing in Term 1, 2027.
The Role
• Lead the Commerce faculty and support excellence in teaching and learning
• Oversee the delivery and development of Commerce curriculum programs across Years 7 to 12
• Support and mentor staff to foster professional growth and collaboration
• Monitor student progress and promote strong academic outcomes
• Encourage innovative and engaging classroom practice
• Create meaningful learning experiences that connect to real-world applications
• Work collaboratively with School leaders to support strategic priorities
• Build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues
• Contribute actively to the broader life of the School
About You
You will be an exceptional educator and leader who demonstrates:
• Experience in a leadership position within a Commerce/ Business faculty, or a strong desire to progress into faculty leadership
• Expertise in one or more Commerce disciplines, including Economics, Business Management and/or Accounting
• A strong understanding of the Victorian Curriculum and VCE requirements
• Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and fostering academic achievement
• The ability to lead curriculum innovation and inspire excellence in teaching practice
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to build productive relationships across the School community
• A commitment to mentoring and developing colleagues
• Strategic thinking, organisational capability and attention to detail
• A passion for preparing young people to become informed, ethical and entrepreneurial contributors to society

Desired Skills and Experience
