Job Description

The Opportunity

The Learning Management System manages the day-to-day operation of the School’s learning management system and associated digital learning platforms. The role is responsible for system administration, user support, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintaining the reliability and usability of digital learning tools for staff and students. The position supports platform updates, resolves operational issues, and assists staff with practical use of the system to ensure the LMS functions effectively across the School.

Key Responsibilities: 

Learning Management System and Digital Platforms

  • Administer, configure, and continuously optimise the School’s Learning Management System, including access, course structures, integrations, reporting, and upgrades.
  • Support core teaching and learning platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud, ensuring effective licensing, security, accessibility, and adoption.
  • Maintain oversight of platform reliability, data integrity, and alignment with educational and operational requirements.

Digital Learning Systems and School Applications

  • Provide administration and user support for school-wide systems including Pixevity, Reach, Consent2Go, Clipboard, Assurance, and related platforms.
  • Enable effective integration of digital systems to streamline workflows, communication, and access to information for staff, students, and families.
  • Ensure compliance with school policy, privacy obligations, and best practice in information security.

Teaching, Learning, and Executive Support

  • Partner with School Executive and Teaching and Learning leaders to implement digital solutions that enhance pedagogy, engagement, assessment, and reporting.
  • Support reporting, analytics, and data‑informed decision‑making across learning and operational domains.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives involving student tracking, learning analytics, and communication effectiveness.

Professional Learning and Staff Capability

  • Support the development and delivery of professional learning that builds staff confidence in the LMS, Microsoft 365, and digital learning tools.
  • Support onboarding of new staff into the School’s digital ecosystem and expectations for effective use.
  • Provide responsive guidance that promotes consistent, high‑quality technology use across the School.

Project, Service, and Departmental Support

  • Lead or contribute to digital learning and systems projects from planning through implementation, testing, documentation, and evaluation.
  • Participate in ICT help desk support, ensuring timely, professional, and student‑focused service delivery.
  • Undertake ancillary and cross‑functional ICT tasks that support departmental operations and continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors to coordinate upgrades, deployments, and enhancements.
  • Assess the impact of system changes on staff workload, training, risk, and student experience.

Operational Continuous Improvement

  • Support development and review of operational procedures relating to digital learning, information management, and technology use.
  • Monitor emerging education technology trends and provide evidence‑based recommendations aligned to School strategy.
  • Ensure systems deliver reliability, usability, compliance, and a high‑quality experience for an increasingly digitally capable school community.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

You are practical, collaborative, and service-oriented, with a clear understanding that technology exists to improve student learning and experience, and are expected to bring:

  • Demonstrated experience administering learning management systems and education technologies (including SchoolBox and Synergetic).
  • Strong capability using Microsoft 365 in school or enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience delivering user support or help desk services in a professional setting.
  • Confident in delivering staff training and professional learning.
  • Experience coordinating or delivering digital or education-related projects.
  • Sound understanding of privacy, security, and governance requirements in regulated environments.
  • Clear communicator with the ability to work effectively with educators, students, and leadership teams.
  • Experience working within an independent school environment.

All positions at Peninsula Grammar require:

  • Current Working with Children Check & Police Check (or willingness to apply)
  • First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis Management, CPR Training - Current or willing to complete
  • Mandatory Child Safety training – provided by the school upon commencement
