Job Description
The Role
Peninsula Grammar are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Instrumental Music Teacher (Vocals) to deliver high-quality vocal tuition to students across a range of ages and abilities. The successful candidate will inspire a love of singing and support students’ technical and musical development through individual and small-group lessons. The successful candidate will be available to work two days per week, with the possibility of growth with the appointment commencing in Term 1, 2026.
In addition to one-on-one instruction, the successful candidate will contribute actively to the broader music program.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging vocal lessons to individual students and small groups
Plan and adapt lessons to meet students’ needs and abilities
Prepare students for performances, concerts, and, where appropriate, examinations
Support and contribute to choirs, ensembles, and school productions
Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
Communicate effectively with students, parents/carers, and school staff
About You
Experienced vocal educator with strong technical knowledge and stylistic versatility
Expertise in contemporary, classical, and/or jazz vocals, including harmony and stylistic interpretation
Proven ability to engage and inspire students from beginner to VCE level
Experience leading choirs, vocal ensembles, or small groups, and supporting high-quality performance outcomes
Collaborative, well-organised, and committed to contributing to the wider music and performing arts program
Desired Skills and Experience
All positions at Peninsula Grammar require:
Current VIT or Working with Children Check
First-Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications
Child Safety training (Mandatory Reporting Certificate)
