Job Description
The Role
Peninsula Grammar School is seeking a dedicated Facilities Team Member (Grounds) to join our property department. This full-time, permanent position is based in the picturesque Mornington Peninsula. As a key member of our property team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the school's grounds and ensuring a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for our students, staff, and visitors.
Your daily tasks will include but are not limited to:
Undertaking general grounds maintenance activities such as mowing, edging, weeding, and pruning to uphold the appearance of the school grounds
Assisting with irrigation system maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal functioning
Conducting regular inspections of outdoor facilities and equipment to identify and address any safety hazards or maintenance requirements
Supporting with setting up for outdoor events, functions and crossing supervision as required
Collaborating with the facilities team to contribute to the overall upkeep of the school's buildings and grounds
Adhering to health and safety protocols at all times to promote a secure working environment

Desired Skills and Experience
About You
Training and/or qualification in Turf Management or Horticulture
Proven experience in grounds maintenance, including lawn care, gardening, and landscaping
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to grounds maintenance activities
Ability to operate and maintain grounds equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers
Experience in performing general maintenance tasks related to outdoor facilities and grounds
Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with other members of the facilities team
Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
A proactive approach to identifying and addressing maintenance needs across the school grounds
All positions at Peninsula Grammar require:
Current Working with Children Check & Police Check (or willingness to apply)
First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis Management, CPR Training - Current or willing to complete
Mandatory Child Safety training – provided by the school upon commencement
