Job Description
The Role
Peninsula Grammar is seeking a dedicated and passionate woodwind educator with expertise in jazz and improvisation. The role involves teaching clarinet and saxophone to individual students, ranging from beginners to VCE level and beyond.
In addition to one-on-one instruction, the successful candidate will contribute actively to the broader music program. Responsibilities include conducting tutorials, leading rehearsals, and directing performances.
A key aspect of this position is the leadership of our award-winning and highly regarded Stage Band, which has enjoyed many years of success and recognition. The successful candidate will further develop students’ skills in jazz performance and improvisation.
Please note: We accepting expressions of interest for appointments ranging from 1-5 days per week and the successful candidate will commence in Term 1, 2026.
About You
Experienced woodwind educator (clarinet and saxophone essential) with expertise in jazz and improvisation
Skills in arranging, double reeds, or classical woodwind an advantage
Proven ability to engage and inspire students from beginner to VCE level
Experience leading ensembles and fostering musical excellence
Collaborative, organised, and committed to contributing to the wider music program
Desired Skills and Experience
All positions at Peninsula Grammar require:
Current VIT or Working with Children Check
First-Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications
Child Safety training (Mandatory Reporting Certificate)
